— Output to POV-Ray ray-tracing program for photorealistic images.
— Interfaces with EnLiten Gold for sharing of results in VR environments.
— Support for 3D input devices by Trackd or write your own using CEI's provided API.
— Server-of-server (SoS) functionality for parallel processing of decomposed data on SMP or DMP architectures.

New and Improved features

- Annotations and plots are drawn in a separate drawing pass and composited with the 3d scene. Actions that require a redraw of the annotations/plots do not require a redraw of the 3D scene and visa versa. This results in much higher interactivity (i..e., performance) when you for example click-n-go an annotation and drag it on the screen.
— Click-n-go handles now appear dynamically on most objects, i.e., when the mouse moves over an object (excluding parts) the handles, if they exist for that object, will appear. Preferences have been added under the View category to enable/disable the dynamic handles on a per object type basis.
— Anti-aliasing filters have been added enabling the graphics window to be smoothed via various algorithms. By default the option is off. Set it via Preferences from the View category. Note that this feature only effects the images in the graphics window — images saved by EnSight have always been smoothed (anti-aliased).
— The palette option of automatically setting the palette range to the min/max on a time change (see Preferences->Color Palettes) can now be performed on a per palette basis via the Options tab of the Palette Editor.
— The Use continuous palette for per element variables (see Preferences->Color Palettes) can now be performed on a per palette basis via the Options tab of the Palette Editor.
— The keyframe animation can be run from a specified keyframe and subframe.
— When performing min/max queries over time it is now possible to specify a list of variables such that multiple variables can be queried with a single pass of the dataset through time vastly increaing performance compared with querying each variable through time individually.
— Can now load multiple queries from data files from a single file open dialog action.
— Added the ability to multiply and divide two queries
— Offset surfaces have been added as an option to the Elevated surface feature. An offset surface creates a copy of a part at an offset location and maps the variables from the parent parts onto the new surface location.
— When reading EnSight Gold case file format the SoS can now start fewer servers than decomposed data blocks. For example, you might create 128 decompositions from your solver but choose to read the data on 8 servers.
— Added Gamma1 and Gamma2 vorticity variables
— Enhanced the clip function to return n-sided results when clipping through n-faced polyhedra. Due to some continued issues still undergoing active development (it is possible to get holes in the clip surface) this feature is currently off by default. For most users it will work fine and could be turned on by issuing a "test: clip_nfaced_on" command in the command dialog. To turn the feature off issue a "test: clip_nfaced_off" command.
— An environment now exists which simplifies and enhances EnSight's ability to run in complex HPC settings such as batch schedulers, ssh, etc
